MARKHAM - Some players let themselves get above the team, and their problems eventually get them kicked out of town.

Michael Vick for instance, got chased out of town...

...so did Plaxico Buress, who summed it up here quite nicely.

(Although he did try and make things right with this Public Service Announcement Video :)

Dating back to the end of last season, Andrew T. has been a big disappointment.

In the final two games - the last being the uncomprehensible first round playoff exit - Andrew T., abandoned the team to revel in mischief and assorted other tom foolery. When the team needed him most, he was a no show. But his talents were never doubted.

That is why, after a drawn out and frustrating failure to sign during the January transfer window, the team seemed destined to cut ties with the offensive midfielder.

Yet even still, his speed, stamina, and play on the field made the team reconsider him a preposterous 3rd time this past week when approached to join once again.

Given a Saturday deadline to submit all required documents, the primadonna failed to show once again - all without any notification to those who arranged to wait for him. He left his agent, the captain, the PFC Organization and the convenor with such an ill feeling, that the team will never consider him again in the future.

Andrew T. was a well liked guy on the bench, but as a young lad he's struggling with some personal issues right now...

and his commitment has never been there. Unfortunately missing this year would make it very difficult for him to return in the future as the 2010 roster boasts over 40 current and returning players to choose from and the idea that he'll knock out any of those guys to make the final 18 is impossible.

Banished for life from PFC, here's hoping he can turn things around, so he doesn't end up like this one last sorry former player...

...yes, that's what's become of Ryan Leaf.

MARKHAM - Pistolas FC held a press conference today to announce the newest additions to the team via the MSC Superdraft.

Stefan Milosevic and Conrad Chan join the rebuilding Pistolas FC team of 2009. At the age of only 20 years old, they bring a growing youth movement alongside 'The Ponytailed One" and Rob Pikula.

Given their age, much will be expected of them in terms of fitness and stamina with alot of demanding running at either midfield or defence, though the latter has been more a tradition with any new blood joining the team.

They will see plenty of action this Sunday May 3rd at Centennial Park, as a shortened Pistolas FC team play in an exhibition game at 7:00pm versus the Markham Warriors. This will allow the director, captain, and other coaching staff an opportunity to assess exactly where they'll fit on the roster.

BARCELONA - Today's Champions League match between Barcelona and Chelsea was thirlling to say the least, however, after playing some old Italian defence for 89 minutes, Chelsea claimed the upper hand in a nil nil draw.

Barcelona will be kicking themselves for missing time and again, missing that clinical finish normally synonymous with the names of Messi, Eto, and Henry.

But Chelsea's only minute of offence may also come back to bite them, as Ivory Coast national Didier Drogba, screwed up royally in the first half in what was a sure goal - he even had a second chance off the rebound!!! Simply put, he made Victor Valdes look like Zubizaretta!!!

Enjoy the video recap, and stay tuned for today's match, Manchester United vs. Arsenal.

MARKHAM - No not those Warriors (although they did miss the playoffs - again - and probably would only be good for headers).

And as tough as PFC are, they aren't up against these warriors either:

Nope, The Road Warriors - Hawk and Animal - don't have 9+ friends joining them this year in the Markham League.

Instead, Pistolas FC will take on an expansion team, the Markham Warriors at 7:00 pm at Centennial Park.

With plenty of PFC players away at International matches, this exhibition game will give plenty of playing time for the new guys and allow for the team to assess their needs and strengths.

With just over one million midfielders on the team, many - old and new - will be sharing the defensive duties this Sunday (especially given the fact that Rocco and Luch are away leaving us with only 1 defensemen - Dookie, thats you!). Who knows, maybe we'll play with one defencemen this Sunday, albeit a left defence as that's Matt's natural position. Besides the 1-7-2 formation has not been used for a while in soccer, maybe even never, and will really trip out these 'Warriors.'

Captained by Mark Foon, not much else is known about this expansion team. All we can hope for is that they're not raging like another famous 'Warrior!'

MARKHAM - With only one week now before Pistolas FC hit the field, a sense of excitement and nervousness has set in, as pressure already begins to build and fill leading up to match one.

After many offseason roster changes and signings, no one feels more pressure than the newbies joining the team.

As the dawn of a new era breaks on the '09 season, here's what to expect from the new recruits.

South American standout, Romerinho, has become reminiscent of his continental paisanos Ronaldo and Maradonna of late, more so for the weight gain factor than the clinical finish, while sporting Diego's hallowed #10. Naturally, as he begins his delayed return to form, much pressure will be on Rob Pikula, who's shiny red imported shoes will be counted on to pot plenty of goals. He'll also have to carry the weight of Captain Charles, who is again one year older, and at his age needs a breather (or respirator) in the form of a substitution (or ten).

All off season long we've heard about the fitness level of Colin Campbell. He'll be heavily relied upon to be a leader in he midfield, able of running up and racing back to help out the defence on any counterattacks. This offensive midfielder is also expected to make a dent in the scoring race.

Jules was by far the biggest aquisition of the year. The highest tauted signing since Mark Cinerari, PFC fans will be looking at Jules to fill some of the biggest shoes in the departed Eddy Megurian. Eddy M.VP scored 10 goals in only a fraction of games last year, and dominated the game weaving in and out of defenders as if the ball was stuck to his foot by a string. Jules brings a wealth of experience and all eyes will be glued to him all season long. No pressure buddy :)

Frank Molony is the once fabled high school star capable of outclassing any Pistola past or present in his prime. In this new era, however, he's hoping to restablish himself as a skilled ball handler with the skill set for defence in a supporting role of PFC All Star Rocco Picheca. He also comes in on defence to assume the position left vacant by another PFC All Star Jason Shumski, the man who could do anything on defence, and often a catalyst for the counter attack. Can Frank produce the same? Pistolas FC fans are hoping for that and some!

Not much is known about Sam Richards, known simply as Sam. The younger, stronger, better looking brother of Eckelton Richards, has the pressure of living up to Eckletons billing - a PFC standout. Will he have the pressure of being PFC's fastest, fittest defender?; or the pressure of being the top goal scorer?; no one really knows.

And now fans, it's time for you to vote, which newbie do you think will have the most pressure on them this season? Vote now!

MISSISSAUGA - Word out of the Andrew T. is that his agent - and PFC player - Davidinho, has tried desperately to get the young midfielder on the 2009 squad.

Already having met the minimum 18 roster slots, Pistolas FC already welcomed the ever committed 'Ponytailed One,' which drove the numbers up to 19 dedicated players - 8 of which would start on the bench.

So where does Andrew T. fit in?

This years squad is stacked at the midfield position but could use his stamina, speed and youth on defence alongside his agent, Davidinho.

But his addition will be tough.

"We will not jump up to 20 roster spots on a team with dedicated players. With 20 guys on the team it will definitely disrupt the flow and chemistry of the game."

His only chance would be if something could be arranged whereby the two MSC Superdraft pics were traded to another team, and then adding Andrew T. which would reunite both he and Carlos to a hard capped roster of 18 players.

And with only 1 week away, it should be interesting how it all plays out.

BRAMPTON - One of the all-time Pistolas FC greats, Ivano "Raging Bull" Volpe is heading down that path and tying the knot this summer.

And in good ol' PFC fashion, the boy is going out with a bash!!!! Can you say open bar????

All Pistolas FC Members past and present are invited to celebrate this momentous occasion with a night of feasting, binge drinking and merriment!

MISSISSAUGA - Throughout the annals of history, there have been quite a few players who have sported the ponytail.

For England, there's been the likes of David Seaman....

...and David Beckham.

Italy has celebrated 'The Divine Ponytail' himself, Roberto Baggio.

But true to his roots, this Pistolas FC player sports the ponytail of former star, fellow countryman, and Ecuadorean idol; Alex Aguinaga.

And so it is that Carlos 'The Ponytailed One' Quinto will return to the Pistolas FC team afterall. After careful consideration he made his decision and finalized a contract for the 2009 season.

As for the team, they are all ecstatic to bring him back and maybe, just like his idol, he'll be able to help bring his team to victory once more.

MARKHAM - Pistolas FC striker turned midfielder Eckelton Richards, is making a case for himself to return upfront for the 2009 season in a most prolific way.

Earlier this year, we told you that Eckelton was on loan to Celtic F.C. on a conditioning stint meant more for the rest of the team than him. At the time, he was leading his team in scoring.

PistolasFC.com has just learned that at seasons end, Eckelton finished as the top scorer on Celtic, notching 10 of his teams 39 goals - or 26%.

And there's more news out of the Richards camp.

Pistolas FC has enjoyed a fine tradition of siblings; Andrew and Charles Eppich; Ronaldo and Davidinho Forestieri; and of course Luciano, Gerry, and Rocco Picheca.

Now word out of the Richards camp is that in a few days, PistolasFC.com will unveil PFC's newest member and brother of Eckelton Richards, known only to the world as 'Sam.'

Stay tuned for more to come. (Now finishing writing that article already Eckelton!:)
