MARKHAM - Goalkeeper Mark Cinerari is the top keeper in the league hands down. His play reminds fans of the legendary keepers; World Cup winner Dino Zoff.
Before Mark, PFC had just some lackey between the posts, never a true goalkeeper. Cinerari has dazzled with acrobatic saves, stopped penalty kicks, and even played through the playoffs with those 8 broken ribs.
He dove up, he dove down, he dove sideways.
Enter his second year at PFC, Mark was looking forward to breaking the shutouts record and knocking up more wins. But he's only human.
Meanwhile, in steps the now retired and defunct, Doctor Octopus, from the Spiderman series. After reading about Elastic Man's venture into human sports, Doc Oc decides he wants to give it a shot.
Doc Oc tried his luck at striker, but just could't keep up with those epic runs. He tried his luck at mid, but was persuaded to leave. At defence, he made Marcello look good. So he turned to his only natural position; Goalkeeper.
Well, you know these mutants; they always want some unfair advantage. In this case Doc Oc thought he'd use his many arms to help tend the net.
"Our club has filed an official protest with the league to ban this keeper with multiple arms, and all mutants who don't follow the league human rules," said team Captain Charles Eppich, "I mean look at this guy - besides looking like a freak, how unfair would the penalty shootout become!"
He has since been banned. As has Elastic Man.
